The Fenyr Supersport: The Lykan Hypersport’s Beastlier Sibling

The Lykan Hypersport from W-Motors was Dubai’s over-opulent supercar. It’s presence was more focused on the excessive use of bling and not neckbreaking horsepower. Well, that depends on what you define as neckbreaking, seeing as the Lykan Hypersport managed to force 750HP out of a 3.7L flat-six. The Lykan Hypersport also holds the title as the first Arab made supercar. Diamond eyes and all, the Lykan Hypersport also managed to “party hop” through several skyscrapers, in my personal favorite movie, Furious 7. With a $3.4 million dollar price-tag, we thought that W-Motors had brought their biggest gun to the fight. However, we are talking about an Arab brand and with the cash flowing through Dubai, W-Motors had another trick up its sleeve. Enter, the W-Motors Fenyr Supersport, the evil twin of the Lykan Hypersport. While the Lykan Hypersport is comparable to a standard WWE wrestling match, the Fenyr Supersport is more like Hell in a Cell.

The Fenyr Supersport is the second vehicle in W-Motors stable. At first glance, you would think the Fenyr Supersport was the Lykan Hypersport, but this is a different animal. The Fenyr Supersport adds a few more angles and cuts to the carbon fiber body, which gives it a more aggressive, track focused look. The Fenyr Supersport as a whole is more of a performance machine than it’s luxury focused sibling. With the aerodynamic additions, the Fenyr Supersport looks more like violent than the Lykan Hypersport.

The RUF Automobile sourced 4.0L Twin Turbo flat-six is the Fenyr Supersport’s weapon of choice. You would think that the Fenyr Supersports power output would be equivalent to the Lykan Hypersport, but you would be wrong. Not only is the 4.0L F6 more powerful than the Lykan’s 3.7 F6, it’s more powerful than most V10 and V12 powered supercars, with a whooping 900HP and 886 lb-ft of torque. The 900HP 4.0L F6 is attached to a seven speed dual clutch transmission, which is good for a 0-60 time of 2.7 seconds, a tenth faster than the Lykan Hypersport. As impressive as a 2.7 second 0-60 time is, it is still slower than the members of the “Holy Trinity” which would be it’s direct competition and significantly slower than the new Challenger Demon, which is a fraction of the cost. Regardless, 2.7 seconds is more than respectable and the Fenyr Supersport and it’s 248mph top speed is comparable to the legendary McLaren F1.

The Fenyr Supersport is one fine piece of machinery, that we wouldn’t expect from a company that produces a car with diamond encrusted headlights. The funny thing is, the Fenyr Supersport is W-Motor’s “entry level” vehicle. “Entry Level?” Yes, “Entry Level.” To the average joe, the term “entry level” is what defines a Nissan Versa or Toyota Yaris. The Fenyr Supersport and it’s $1.85 million dollar price tag is far from entry level, but when compared to it’s $3.4 million dollar, over-opulent brother in the Lykan Hypersport, the Fenyr Supersport is a bargain.

With that being said, you might want to wait before breaking out the check book. W-Motors will only build 25 Fenyr Supersport’s per year. Those 25 units are far more than the 7 Lykan Hypersports, W-Motors builds per year. That keeps the Fenyr Supersport super-exclusive and a good deal when compared to it’s sibling. Also, when you are examining the design and performance of the Fenyr Supersport, $1.85 million is quite a bargain. That is…if you have a car, boat and a plane already.
